IKY System

The IKY System is a discipline of mental re-education that systematizes traditional and modern practices to achieve meditation processes leading to a refinement of the mind. The IKY SYSTEM gives practitioners efficient strategies for a satisfying life in keeping with each individual's own nature and temperament.

IKY integrates and systematizes knowledge, techniques and practices from classical and modern yoga, tantra kundalini, Mayan kankueb and the Feldenkrais Method®, within a scientific framework — especially biopsychology.

THEORETICAL MODEL OF THE IKY SYSTEM

General objective: IKY facilitates human development through the refinement of the main techniques of yoga, making the pursuit of its goal and the attainment of its benefits more effective. Unlike any other line of yoga, it places exclusive tools in the practitioner's hands that become a new paradigm for yoga: biomechanics, IKY Drishti and kankueb.

Following the principles of biomechanics, bodily movement continually stimulates the nervous system, producing changes in the central and peripheral neural networks that exponentially improve physical performance as well as the process of mind and emotions. Conscious movement practices transform the synaptic networks and the biomechanical process, generating a reorganization of body, mind and emotions that leads to well-being, a stronger self-image, and greater inner authority.

With IKY Drishti — sophisticated visualization techniques — practitioners learn to cultivate sensations, feelings, emotional attitudes and mental processes that shape one's state of being.

Finally, kankueb contributes a symbolic vision of the vast scales that make up existence, grounding the school's theoretical model. This model clearly and systematically classifies the different techniques of the IKY SYSTEM. In addition, the principles of kankueb guide the practitioner toward a fuller understanding of the possibilities of the mind, and therefore a better use of it.

As mentioned above, the theoretical model of the IKY SYSTEM – ISHKA KANKUEB YOGA is built on the symbolic Mayan classification of the universe through the four elements, namely:
